A project of passenger communication with the Romanian city of Tulcea has started in Izmail

The event is envisaged by the development plan of the Izmail seaport. The executive committee of the Izmail City Council signed a grant contract for the CBConnect-Trans project - development of intermodal cross-border communication along the Isakcha - Orlovka - Izmail - Tulcha route.

According to the press service of the Izmail seaport, this event is envisaged by the development plan of the Izmail seaport, and the signing of the contract is an important step towards its implementation.

According to the port workers, within the framework of the project, it is planned to build a modern parking lot for small vessels for about 12 places within the Luka Kapikrayana embankment No. 4, overhaul the access road to the sea terminal with the arrangement of parking for vehicles, as well as the purchase of two vessels (for 32 and 12 places) for regular passenger traffic on the route "Izmail - Tulcea" and in the opposite direction.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the Romania - Ukraine 2014-2020 Joint Operational Program and will be funded by the European Union.

The main goal of the program is to restore regular passenger traffic between the cities of Izmail and Tulcea (Romania) along the Danube River. The project will be completed within 24 months.

The press service added that the signing of grant contracts means the legal and actual start of projects.

The main partner of the project is the Mayor's Office of Isaccea (Romania, Tulcea County), and from the Ukrainian side - the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council.
