Yildiray released a 533-mm torpedo, controlled by cable. It hit almost in the middle of the ship, as a result of which the tanker broke in two and sank.
The submarine Yildiray refers to submarines of type 209 of German construction and is equipped with eight torpedo compartments. For the first time, they began to build on exports in 1971 and currently are in service with 14 countries.
