Captain «Olshansky»: if the ship sank, I would be cursed even grandchildren
Team BDK «Konstantin Olshansky» March 24 was captured by Russian soldiers in captivity is not. «Russian soldiers acted according to well-functioning scheme. Next let civilians behind them - the Cossacks, then was Russian special forces», - said Kovalenko «Internet Options».
Before the assault, the sailors damaged the car and electronics on the ship. The issue of the ship's sinking by the crew was not even considered.
"Firstly, this is not wartime. Secondly, if we decided to do this, then I, for allowing this to be done, would be cursed not only by children, but also by my grandchildren. Can you imagine how much lubricants and fuel would have spilled into the Black Sea if I had allowed it. I would have been involved in several charges at once, including for damage to military equipment, "the captain noted.
When the assault began, the sailors fired into the air, and shots were also fired in response. Then the crew barricaded themselves in one of the cabins, where they managed to hold out for some time. The assault ended after Russian servicemen cut the locks on the door of the cabin in which the crew barricaded themselves. Nobody was hurt during the assault.
“At night, part of the crew left the ship ashore. Nobody took us prisoner. Several people responsible for the survivability of the ship remained on board,” the military said.
“I called the officers in Sevastopol, I keep in touch all the time with those captains who suffered the same fate as us. What will happen next, we do not know, we are waiting for an order from the leadership,” Kovalenko stressed.
As previously reported, the Konstantin Olshansky large landing craft was seized on March 24 by Russian servicemen. Now, according to Kovalenko, they are all in Crimea, in a safe place, waiting for them to be taken out of the region. So far, no one has officially contacted them.
