TSMI operates out of Mumbai, The Port City, Commercial capital and the Maritime Hub of India. TSMI commenced its Marine Human Resource Management operations in Feb 2013 and manages a wide fleet of 22 ships Comprising of Bulk Carriers / Tankers / Dredgers and FSO. The history of Mumbai Port claims to have been used by boats and ships of explorers and fishermen. It was also an important naval port of the Maratha Navy. In more recent time, during the British Raj in India, it had been developed as a port. The port was the pre-eminent commercial port of India in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It is known as the gateway to India, and has been a primary factor in the emergence of Mumbai as the commercial capital of India. Mumbai's location (Latitude 18° 56.3' N, Longitude 72° 45.9' E) and the large area of more than 150 square miles of harbour opening to the sea routes of the Arabian Sea has made it one of the primary ports of India handling different types of cargoes. The offices of the Directorate General of Shipping and its satellite departments are all within a stone's throw from the Port of Mumbai. We, TSMI are located at Nariman Point next to seat of the state government within the commercial capital of India.
